Thiago Seyboth Wild played the villain (not for the first time) in Switzerland last week, winning the Zug 125 event. He defeated local favourite Marc-Andrea Hüsler, who had announced that Zug was to be the final tournament of his career. A dream week however, culminated in a disappointing loss, but nevertheless, a very good way to retire for the Swiss former world #47.
Alex Michelson was expected to win the Bloomfield Hills title as top seed, and sure enough, as a top 50 player, he found a way to move through to the trophy presentation.
Luca Pavlovic won his first Challenger title in Segovia, as did 18-year-old Diego Dedura who upset local favourite Otto Virtinan in Tampere.
Toby Samuel won his fifth Challenger event in 9 months, and is yet to lose a final, as he moved to his career high of #112. He’s having a great season, and will be looking for a top 100 debut very soon.
