Plenty of players looking to get some matches under the belt in the lead up to Wimbledon. Aussie, Christopher O’Connell won his 7th Challenger title, and first on grass, taking out Finnish player, Otto Virtinan in two closely fought sets. Luca Van Assche has won his third title of the year, and is having a very good season, halving his ranking from #166 at the start of the season to #82 now.
Gustavo Heide was another big winner last week. He’s now won six Challenger titles from seven finals, and finds himself at a career high #138, after starting the year at #241. He will definitely be one to watch in the coming 12 months.
Henry Searle won his debut Challenger title, and moves to a career high 263, which is a great effort. The other first-time winner on the tour last week, was Spain’s Max Alcala Gurri, who, on the back of that win, moves up to #234. He’s now won two Challenger titles in quick succession.
