ITF World Tennis Tour | 12–18 October 2026
Australia’s Matthew Dellavedova continued his extraordinary 2026 season with another ITF World Tennis Tour title in China, while former US Open champion Sloane Stephens celebrated a significant milestone in her comeback at the W100 event in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Across the men’s and women’s tours, 28 singles titles were decided during the week of 12–18 October, with several noteworthy performances from established professionals, emerging teenagers and players rebuilding their careers.
Dellavedova’s extraordinary season continues
Few players have enjoyed a more productive season on the ITF Men’s World Tennis Tour than Matthew Dellavedova.
The Australian defeated Martin Borisiouk 6-4, 7-6(4) in the M25 Qian Daohu final in China, extending a remarkable run of success that has made him one of the standout performers at this level in 2026.
The ITF had already confirmed Dellavedova as the tour’s leading title winner following his triumph at M25 Luan the previous week. That victory was his eighth singles title of the season and took his main-draw record to an astonishing 84 wins and 19 losses.
His latest victory in Qian Daohu therefore represents his ninth ITF singles title of 2026, assuming the ITF’s previously published eight-title tally includes all his earlier victories.
The 84–19 record, recorded before his latest title, represents an 81.6% winning percentage. At that stage, Dellavedova had recorded 30 more main-draw victories than any other player on the men’s tour.
The ITF also reported that his performances were putting him in contention for a debut inside the world’s top 250.
For Dellavedova, the challenge will increasingly become translating that consistency into success at ATP Challenger level, where stronger fields and greater ranking-point opportunities await.
Stephens wins first title in more than two years
Sloane Stephens provided the week’s biggest name on the women’s tour, capturing the W100 Edmond title with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over 16-year-old Kristina Liutova.
The American’s victory was her first tournament title since winning the WTA 250 event in Rouen in April 2024 and her 11th professional singles title across all levels.
The 2017 US Open champion began 2026 ranked outside the world’s top 1,000, having endured a difficult period away from the upper reaches of the sport.
Her victory in Oklahoma lifted her 15 places to world No. 118, her highest ranking since February 2025.
At 33, Stephens remains a long way from her career-high ranking of No. 3, but the Edmond result is an encouraging step in her attempt to return to the WTA’s top 100.
Banerjee battles back in Solapur
Former Wimbledon junior champion Samir Banerjee produced one of the week’s most competitive finals, recovering from a set down to defeat India’s Karan Singh 2-6, 6-4, 7-6(4) at the M25 Solapur event.
The American secured the title in a deciding-set tiebreak after losing the opening set, completing an impressive comeback on the Indian hard courts.
Elsewhere at M25 level, Jack Loge defeated Thomas Faurel 6-4, 6-3 in Luanda, Angola, while Cosme Rolland de Ravel recovered from a set down to overcome Alastair Gray 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 in Austin, Texas.
In Italy, Matthew William Donald claimed the Santa Margherita di Pula title when Giorgio Tabacco retired with Donald leading 6-0, 3-1.
Paldanius claims second professional title
Finnish teenager Oskari Paldanius continued his transition from junior tennis with victory at the M15 Sharm El Sheikh event in Egypt.
The 19-year-old, seeded seventh, defeated second seed Romain Faucon of Belgium 6-3, 6-4 to claim his second professional singles title.
According to the Finnish Tennis Federation, Paldanius entered the tournament ranked No. 787 in the world, while Faucon was ranked No. 524.
Paldanius won his first three matches in straight sets before recovering from a set down to defeat third seed Amr Elsayed 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the semifinals.
His victory in Egypt followed his maiden professional singles title in Turku earlier this year, adding another encouraging result to his early senior career.
Gatica completes title-winning return in Brazil
One of the week’s most unusual stories came at the W15 Maceió tournament, where Chile’s Bárbara Gatica returned to professional competition after serving a lengthy suspension for match-fixing.
Gatica defeated top seed Ana Sofía Sánchez of Mexico 7-5, 6-0 to win the singles title in her first tournament back. She also won the doubles title alongside Brazil’s Rebeca Pereira.
The 30-year-old had previously reached a career-high singles ranking of No. 201 in June 2022, before her suspension interrupted her career.
The result marked a successful competitive return, although the circumstances surrounding her absence remain a significant part of the story.
Other notable women’s results
At W50 level, Sweden’s Kajsa Rinaldo Persson defeated Britain’s Mimi Xu 6-4, 6-2 in Quebec City, while Turkey’s Ipek Oz overcame Alena Kovackova 6-2, 7-5 in Stara Zagora.
At W35 level, Alisa Oktiabreva recovered from a set down to defeat Tilwith Di Girolami in Heraklion, while Alicia Dudeney, Connie Ma, Jessica Pieri and Elena Milovanovic also collected titles.
The remaining W15 events produced champions across Egypt, Moldova, China, Pakistan and Croatia, underlining the geographical reach of the ITF World Tennis Tour.
