Monte Carlo Masters 2026: Quarter-Final Preview

Just eight remain in the first clay court Masters event of 2026.

Below, we have listed our predictions for Friday’s Monte Carlo quarter-final matches.

Joao Fonseca vs Alexander Zverev (3)

At +129 with DraftKings, many fans will be backing Fonseca in this one. His 6-3, 6-2 victory over Matteo Berrettini would’ve been impressive on its own, but given the fact it came the day after the latter double bageled Daniil Medvedev, it looks even better.

The Brazilian has stuck in there with the elite in recent weeks and does look like a future champion at some of the biggest events on the ATP Tour.

That said, he goes up against Zverev (-158), who remains one of the world’s best, particularly on clay.

Prediction: Zverev 2-1 (+350)

Felix Auger Aliassime (6) vs Jannik Sinner (2)

Despite dropping the second set against Tomas Machac on Thursday afternoon, Sinner (-1100) took the two either side to book a spot in the quarter-final.

Even with the blip against the Czech, the world No. 2 definitely remains one of the front-runners, as he looks to regain No. 1 status and pick up a maiden clay 1000 title.

Next up, he takes on the man he beat to secure the Paris Masters in November.

Auger Aliassime (+670) defeated 2024 finalist Casper Ruud to progress, winning the first set before a retirement from the Norwegian in the second.

Although ranked inside the top 10, this will be a tough test for the Canadian.

Prediction: Sinner 2-0 (-300)

Carlos Alcaraz (1) vs Alexander Bublik (8)

Similarly to Sinner, Alcaraz (-1920) allowed his opponent, Tomas Martin Etcheverry, back into the game, going into a decider.

Nevertheless, the Spaniard prevailed as he aims to maintain the dominance on this surface that he has shown in the last couple of years.

Bublik (+940) overcame the in-form Jiri Lehecka in straights and will play the defending Monte Carlo champion for the first time.

He is looking for another good season on clay after picking up a couple of 250s on it and making the quarter-finals at Roland Garros last year.

Valentin Vacherot vs Alex De Minaur (5)

De Minaur (-217) came out victorious to get past Alexander Blockx, despite a spirited effort from the Belgian.

The Australian has a solid record at this event, reaching the semis in 2025 and the quarter-finals in 2024.

He goes toe-to-toe with Vacherot (+175). The home favourite went a set down against Hubert Hurkacz, but prevailed in the end.

Vacherot’s triumph over last year’s finalist Lorenzo Musetti before that was a particularly impressive win, the same player who knocked De Minaur out of two clay Masters (including Monte Carlo) in 2025.

Prediction: Vacherot 2-1 (+425)
