Ekaterine Gorgodze won the biggest ITF title of last week, and in the process, lifted trophy number 20! Gorgodze has never quite managed to crack the top 100 in her career, and currently sits at #217. If the 34-year-old can produce more weeks like this, maybe there’s one more big climb in the rankings for her.
Eva Vedder is making a move of her own, winning two titles in a row, and 14 of her last 15 matches. She’s now broken into the top 200, and will be full of confidence. The only first time winner last week, was Yulija Perapekhina, who won in Monastir.
On the men’s tour, Omar Jasika won his first title in this year. The Aussie got to #177 a couple of years ago, off the back of 7 titles in 2024, but since then, it’s been tough going for him. Good to see him string a few wins together.
Kenta Miyoshi and Linus Lagerbohm were the debut winners last week.
