Some really interesting results on the ATP Challenger Tour last week. Facundo Diaz Acosta won his fifth Challenger title of the year, taking the San Marino 125 title. He’s moved up 128 places this year, to find himself back in the top 100.
J.J. Wolf continues his climb back to top 100, having been as high as #39 three years ago. Earlier in the year he won his first ITF title in nine years, and now he’s won his first Challenger title in five years, winning the Vancouver 125. Jan Choinski moves to within a couple of places of his career high of #75 after winning his third Challenger of the year in Bonn.
Gabriel Debru has barely been on court at a professional level this year, spending some time at college, but he’s returned in style taking out the Samsun 50 event.
But one of the big results, was 2024 Australian Open Junior runner-up (to Rei Sakamoto), Jan Kumstat won his maiden Challenger event at the Liberec 75 tournament. That win moves him up to a career high #336 in the rankings. Another young Czech player to watch out for in the coming years.
